It’s a Forever Thing was an intimate, electrifying showcase of music, fashion, and community centered on the artistry of Makeda Iroquois, known as Eastside Princess. With her commanding voice and raw lyricism, Makeda delivered a performance that fused soul, R&B, and storytelling, leaving the Charlotte audience captivated.

Held at 1X Studios in 2023, the evening was hosted by Melia Blanco and featured additional creative energy from Wildrecluse. Makeda’s stunning performance look was styled by SheKinah of The Kinah Collective, while Monica Renee McMillan’s look was curated by Carl McLaurin, featuring a custom skirt by Kiarah Peoples of JAVONNE, a corset from African fashion brand ILORM, a sheer Shein-collaboration blouse by Obviously Vintage, and bold purple platforms by Jessica Simpson.

The vibe was completed with whimsical treats from WonderPuff Cotton Candy and handcrafted cocktails by EvsBevs Mixology, featuring Redd Rose Vodka and music vibes from DJ Aumni.

 

The energy, artistry, and style of the night were captured by Logan Alphin and Monica Renee McMillan, preserving the essence of an event that proved creativity, community, and expression are truly a forever thing.
